8 months is not a very long time for a language- it is a skill that takes time. Vocabulary is difficult to remember unless you use it, so the best way to keep it is to repeat it through use. It also depends on your language- I’m starting to learn Japanese at the moment and it is very hard to rememember words because they have no connection at all with anything in my language or any language I am familiar with. What;’s your fist language, by the way?

There are chat rooms for language on the internet, but I’m afraid never use chatrooms, so I don’t know much about them. Apart from that, there are many forums like this, where you can communicate, though less directly.

1. Make the website more attractive to visitors. To me, and to others certainly also, it looks like a total mess. Lots of colours and advertisements everywhere. One opens the website and doesn’t know where to look at first.

So, create a good layout, which means, create a good way to present your content. Separate content from advertisements. Create a structure that is easily understood by your visitors. They have to be able to rapidly identifiy
What the website is about (theme?);
What type of information they can find on it (try an introductory text);
How they can access the information (well-positioned, intuitive menu);
…
Aside from the layout, try to create an interesting design. This means:
Selecting colours and combinations of colours (a good colour scheme). Try, for example, to use different shades of one colour instead of mixing dark blue, “eye-cancer blue”, red, green and pink. If you want to use different colours, try to limit your selection to two or three that go along well (blue and blue-ish green, for example);
Being careful with typefaces/fonts and their sizes;
Creating paragraphes, positioning them carefully and also creating the correct space between paragraphs, titles and text, text and advertisements (this has to do with layout again);

2. I have seen you’re using Microsoft’s FrontPage 4.0. In my most humble opinion, that is not the best website-builder on the world. It produces horrible HTML-code (look at yours… it’s disastrous). I’ve been told FrontPage Express does a better job. Try that. Or try Adobe Dreamweaver or any of the many free website-builders available on the internet.
Let someone with knowledge about building websites and with knowledge about HTML review your code. It needs some serious clean up.
3. Cleaning up your HTML, along with the addition of a description, keywords and other meta-information (ask a webdesigner for more information on this), could help making your website somewhat tastier for search engines like Google. Creating keywords, and optimizing your website on those, is important for possible visitors that search for topics you write about and not exactly for the name of your website…
Basically, follow this rule: Make a good website and then you can try making good money with it. You have to work for your money.
Most important of all: Having good content. Having good content attracts interested visitors and generates qualitative traffic. No content, no good website.

First, here’s a piece of advice that you may have heard before but I have found invaluable: in order for you to love others you have to be able to love yourself. So be proud of who you are, your accomplishments, and everything you do have, instead of thinking about what you do not have or what you could have. Although it is commendable to aspire to become a better person or lead a better life, I think a person should appreciate the life s/he has before trying to make it better; if you’re trying to fix something about you that you’ll never be happy with then you’ll always be unhappy. The second thing I’ll say is to never let anyone make you feel otherwise. If you believe in yourself and do things the way you want, to the best of your ability and that’s all you can expect from yourself.
Of course this is all easier said than done, and comes mostly from the inside. So referring to external sources of self-confidence I would suggest getting involved in group or volunteer activities that allow you to contribute/participate in a greater good/purpose. I find that having a communal or supportive group of people all with the same goal allows people to start something together, endure challenges, and overcome these challenges to accomplish something helps. If you’re a physically active person, I would highly recommend trying martial arts–not only does it teach discipline, propriety, conduct, it allows you the release and environment where everyone is starting out just like you; skills you learn and ability to do them come from you and no one else, making you feel very accomplished, all in a supportive environment [hopefully if it is a decent instructor
]. If not so physically active, I would encourage volunteering at a hospital, food bank, Habitat for Humanity, or some kind of charity. Here you can gain the confidence in knowing that your abilities and work was appreciated by someone who needed it.Good luck!

Although I am happy with the traffic I am receiving from my website content, I am still a bit bemused as to how my ranking for google maps / google places is worked out.
I have improved my google places page: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=environmental+consultants+somerset&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=environmental+consultants&hnear=Somerset&cid=1073204994613704355&z=14
It has more ratings than my competitors, and more information yet I still rank lower. A search for “environmental consultants somerset” puts me in 4th place, yet “environmental consultants devon” (which is where I am based) I am no where to be seen.
I have read every bit of guidance I can find on improving my google places page and so I ask the uber knowledgeable folk on gwmf of their well respected opinion.
