10 Simple Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Ideas to Improve Your Ranking

Instead of a URL that looks like: http://www.mysite.com/goto.php?page=12345 you can change it to http://www.mysite.com/page/how-to-do-somthing.html. This is much easier for search engines to follow and also can contain keywords that can guide them to a better analysis of the content your site contains. 6. Use keywords in the addresses of your pages. Closely complimenting point 5 above, adding keywords to the addresses of your pages can make a big difference. When setting up your site structure, keep that in mind. For example, if you have a site about apples, rather than having a URL like: http://www.mysite.com/page/page1.html change it to something like http://www.mysite.com/granny-smith/granny-smith-orchards-in-california.html where the content of the page is somewhat represented by the address of the page.
7. Make sure you take advantage of meta tags like keywords and descriptions. Many sites often overlook meta tags. There are a large number of these tags you can add to your html pages to help give search engines a better idea of what’s in your site. Two tags in particular, the description and keywords tags, allow you to write a description of each page and also list relevant keywords contained within your site. Use these on every page of your entire site.
8. Create and maintain a sitemap. If you want Google or Yahoo to index your entire site, one of the best ways to do that is to tell them what pages are in your site. If you create and maintain a sitemap for your site, the search engines will easily find all your content.
9. Block duplicate content with robots.txt. Duplicate content on a site can be really bad when it comes to ranking well within search engines. If the structure of your site results in a lot of duplicated content (for example, having summaries on one page of a blog and full articles on another) you can actually be penalized by Google for it. Using the robots.txt file, you can tell Google and other search spiders what content you want read, and what content you want ignored. 10. Make sure your pages contain the keywords you want to rank highly with. While it may seem obvious, you’d be surprised how many people overlook this point. If you have a page about granny smith apples, and you want it to rank highly for the phrase granny smith apples, you have to actually use those words often within the content of your site/page. Don’t overdo it, but make sure it’s obvious to a computer algorithm reading your site (such as Google’s content spider) that the main context of a particular page is granny smith apples.

Make sure you are posting a lot of content . You can have all the backlinks in the world, but if your website is not updated regularly, you are going to have a hard time justifying a decent google search result ranking / pagerank

Don’t you have to wait until two things happen in order to show something other than PR0:
1. You have wait until you’ve earned something higher through links, etc…
2. You have to wait until Google updates thet exported PR values..

Don’t bother with PR it’s worthless

I also have a website which dropped to pr0. It is quite hard to increase it. You have to put great effort like updating and fixing it regularly. Even though I’ve had some back links it did not go up.
Tweak the headings ,get more backlinks .
Put alt tag in all images.

I have a number of websites with PR 0 getting good traffic/earnings. I’m getting regular visitors coming from many social sites. Seasoned netizens have more trust in recommendations given at social sites since SEs’ results are often stale and easily manipulated.
I have about 150 articles being published by hundreds (if not thousands) of article directories and websites but still not shwon as backlinks by G.

You are right since SEs are not fools (no offence to you). All the backlinks would be discounted if your site is stale or gathering cyber dust.

I’m not trying to bully a Peon but I have to disagree you. Thematic backlinks are great and one way backlinks from authority sites are the greatest but don’t look down on non-thematic backlinks.

The background is very loud and confusing, and you almost have to squint to read the text. Here’s my suggestion: Use a white, solid-colored column as the format for your page and your background as the coloring on the left and right sides of this wide column.

On this wide column, add a section on the homepage for your game categories, a separate section on the homepage for recent games (you also may want to organize these better; use page breaks, centering, and align the format), and a separate section for advertisements, perhaps in a column aligning the page like you have it.
Choose a better font than the default Times New Roman; that is a very boring font. Try something easy to read though, like Calibri or Verdana.
Match your font colors, title banner color, and background colors to give the site a more put-together feel.
Also, your title banner is a little cheesy. You may want to add some artwork (not clip art or something from Google images), or even hire a friend you know to make a cool design. The red font is just not very pleasing to the eye.
Browse popular gaming websites to get ideas.
Capitalize all of your links, like game titles. You may want to distinguish game titles from game descriptions by using page breaks and bold.
Be more consistent/patterned with your format to decrease viewer confusion.
Those are my humble suggestions; I am pretty good at graphic designing and making things look presentable. Try to ask yourself: If I were browsing the Internet and happened across this website, what would be my first impression? Cheesy and amateur, or professional and catchy?

The problem, as I see it, is that you’re trying to address two different target audiences, each with different needs (wholesale and retail) — and you’re trying to do it with one website/homepage.
The perceived worth of the services you offer can be increased by making your company appear bigger. 1300 Number – Contact Us are the perfect way of taking your local business to the international stage.
You need to develop a landing page (or pages) specifically for each target audience. And each landing page needs to be simple, clear and really obvious about what the call to action is.
Your current home page has too many words, too many options/links, and no really compelling offer or call to action.
Now all of this assumes you want to sell some Christmas trees using your website. If you have some other objective, these suggestions might not apply.
So here are the next steps:
1. Be very clear about your objective.
2. Make sure the landing page is specific to each target audience and the key benefit you provide for that audience.
3. Simple, clear landing pages with an obvious and compelling offer/call-to-action.
Separate comment about the picture at the top of the page: The trees are nice, but not as nice as the faces of happy customers enjoying what you provide. It’s hard for most people to identify with a tree. Much easier to identify with another human.
It would be good if you can get some outside professional help to make the site really sing for you. It’s not as easy as it looks, but you have a great product for capturing end-end-benefits and emotional connection.
